LET’S MAKE IT ABUNDANT WITH GOOD HEALTH & HAPPINESS!
I wanted to share a podcast that I think EVERYONE will find useful with simple things you can focus on to improve your your overall health happiness this year!
An officer friend of mine recently shared a situation with me that is weighing heavy on my heart and I feel moved to help in some way. I want to share what details I can with you all, in hopes that I might get a few others to assist me either in prayer, or donations.
There is a woman who has recently escaped a bad situation, she has 7 of her 9 children with her (ages 6 mos up to 20 yrs old), the other two are older and already out on their own. This family is homeless; they have been shuffled from homeless shelters locally (because our shelters do not prioritize children and in some cases will not take children over 12; but that is another frustration to deal with at another time). They currently have a vehicle and are now in a hotel room (they were able to get some assistance from Family Resource Center in Chippewa and from a Dunn County grant for battered women).
I told my officer friend I want to try to raise some additional funds (gift cards and or cash) to go towards gas, food, basic needs, so this family can “get on their feet” and find some stability. She and the older children have been working where they can find work.
If you feel moved to help me help them, you can bring in any donations or gift cards to me here at the studio over the next week…I will be handing them of to my friend, who can then get them to this family on December 1st.
(If you want to drop off gift cards next week just text me and/or drop them in my mailbox with a note).

Metagenics is one of the nutraceutical companies I use and recommend often and they are offering this special:
40% of Americans report their daily activities are disrupted by symptoms like bloating, gas, or abdominal pain
20-30% get heartburn weekly
10% get heartburn daily The rise in digestive distress around the world isn’t a mystery. It’s reflective of how dramatically we’ve changed the way we grow and consume food. Modern-day farming and eating practices have stripped away three key elements our digestion depends on. To understand the best way to fill that gap, let’s look at Mother Nature’s natural cycle and how easy it is to restore those dietary needs with three products known as the Gut Trifecta: Just Thrive’s Digestive Bitters, PREbiotic and Spore-based Probiotic & Antioxidant.
The Trifecta Missing from Your Food Our ancestors were foragers whose every bite of plant food was: Extremely bitter (think bark, berries, leaves, etc.), Fiber-rich and chewy, and naturally coated with Gut-friendly, spore-based bacteria, picked up from being grown on microbially rich, clean soil.
Bitters The human body contains millions of nerve receptor sites coded to be activated by bitter bio-actives. With the newest science showing the majority to be in your stomach and small intestine—not the mouth—as soon as we swallow that first bite of bitter-tasting food, the activated nerve sites immediately begin signaling, “Hey body, get ready, food is coming!” And now a whole series of processes launches including: Gastric emptying (without this working properly, food sits like a rock in your stomach causing gas & bloating, occasional heartburn, stomach pain), Production of: Enzymes (protein-digesting protease & lipase which breaks down fat) and Bile (supports both your immune system and liver) GLP-1 & Ghrelin (appetite & control of cravings) Intestinal contractions (helps prevent sluggish bowels), And more…Bitters aren’t just for flavor! They help kick start a cascade of digestive functions, but only if the herbs can correctly arrive where they’re most needed.
For maximum benefit, two capsules with a meal most closely approximates Mother Nature’s own delivery system of bitter bio-actives arriving with food directly into the stomach and small intestine.
And if you like the taste of bitters, the powder can also be put directly in the mouth with a little water to target receptors on the tongue.
Fascinatingly, the latest science has also discovered bitters receptor sites in organs not directly related to digestion (brain, heart, lungs, etc.), potentially linking bitters with previously unknown neurological and metabolic benefits associated with: Appetite & Glucose Control, Fat Metabolism, Immune Support, Mood, Blood Pressure, Your Bodily Inflammatory Load, and more. Bitters are key to launching the entire, natural flow of digestion.
Prebiotics Prebiotics are the indigestible fibers in food, mostly plants, upon which our beneficial gut bacteria thrive.
95% of adults and children need to add fiber to their diet, according to the Food and Fiber Summit. [4] Anthropological evidence suggests our ancestors ate up to 100 grams of fiber daily, while the average American now eats only 15-50.
Your gut contains approximately 30-100 trillion microbial inhabitants consisting of anywhere from 300-1000 different species (or families).
Each gut bacterial species and/or strain: Performs a unique job helping you stay healthy and happy and Has distinct preferences for the kinds of prebiotic fiber it needs to flourish. This is reflective of how our ancestors ate a far more fiber-diverse diet than present-day city dwellers. The lack of fiber diversity in the modern diet is considered a strong driver behind how those of us living in industrialized countries have only about half (or less) the numbers of bacteria living in our gut than indigenous peoples with a more natural diet and lifestyle. [5]
Without adequate fiber of the right kind, we risk starving health-protective bacteria and losing the benefits they provide.
For example, a deficiency of Akkermansia m. has been linked to obesity, insulin resistance, allergies, asthma, etc. [6]
Gut-Friendly Spore Bacillus Gut-friendly (commensal) spore bacteria are Mother Nature’s exceptionally successful way of keeping your gut “clean,” balanced, and healthy over the course of your lifetime—ideally, just by eating food.
All plants eaten by our foraging ancestors grew upon microbially rich soil, without the application of destructive chemicals, and were, therefore, naturally coated with these gut-protective bacteria. Once consumed, these hardy, spore-protected bacteria successfully survive the damaging acid of the stomach, arrive alive in the gut and immediately produce two different byproducts for their two-part gut population balancing process.
Categorically different from your 30-100 trillion gut microbiome inhabitants which remain largely in one area, gut-friendly, spore-based bacteria are both native to the gut and also “transients” that slowly move down the length of your intestines over about 3 weeks and then exit your body via your bowel movement.
Along the way, these critically important bacteria make and use their own byproducts to balance your gut population. One self-produced compound kills pathogens, reducing that population. The other is a “superfood fertilizer” that significantly increases a deficiency of beneficials (for example, Akkermansia m.). This two-part, gut “cleaning” mechanism makes commensal spore bacteria extraordinarily efficient at correcting an unhappy gut.
A robust, thriving gut delivers a vast range of health benefits because your microbiome population affects (and controls) virtually every other organ and system in your body. Your intestinal bacteria make:Hormones: Cortisol, Estrogen, GLP-1 (appetite suppressor) Mood Neurotransmitters: Serotonin, Dopamine, GABA Enzymes: nattokinase, all your digestive enzymes, and more Fat-burning Butyrate and short-chain-fatty acids Vitamin B ComplexVitamin K2And that’s just the short list!
Why We Are Trifecta Deficient Bitter compounds, prebiotic fibers and spore Bacillus strains have been systematically removed from modern eating habits everywhere. Bitters AND prebiotic fibers have been hybridized out of crops starting in the mid-1800’s because eaters prefer their food plump, sweet and juicy, not fibrous, tough and bitter-tasting—like our ancestors ate. Bacteria, including gut-friendly spore Bacillus, have been systematically sterilized out of the food cycle (to make it “safe”) for about eight decades including: Soil, Agricultural growing and harvesting, and Food processing. All these dietary changes foundationally alter our health because they affect how well we access nutrition from our food.
What Happens When We Are Trifecta Deficient Based on clinical outcomes, gut experts estimate: 97-99% OF THE U.S. POPULATION has: Gut microbiome imbalance & dysbiosis,An irritated, leaking intestinal wall, andA weakened digestive system.
Why Just ThriveJust Thrive Digestive BittersTHE DIGESTIVE DOZEN: Based on only the most recent science, each herb is carefully selected to target one piece of the complex digestive puzzle, making the overall effect uniquely comprehensive. CAPSULE, NOT LIQUID: Encapsulation protects the herbs and enables them to more effectively be delivered to the majority of our receptor sites where they can stimulate the greatest benefit: our stomach and small intestine. Just Thrive PREbioticFEEDS ONLY “GOOD GUYS”: Formulated with three “specific” fibers shown to feed health-promoting bacteria and never the bad. “Non-specific” fibers feed both harmful and beneficial gut bacteria. When gut dysbiosis is already present, consuming non-specific prebiotic fibers can lead to gas & bloating, cramping, stools that are too hard or too loose, etc. STUDY: 150% increase (MORE than doubled) beneficial gut bacteria at the recommended dose in only 2 weeks [4] Just Thrive Spore-based Probiotic & AntioxidantGASTRIC SURVIVAL TEST: 100% survive / 100% colonize STUDY: 10-100 FOLD increase in beneficial gut bacteria at one capsule in 3 weeks (including Akkermansia m.) [7] STUDY: 42% sealing up of a leaking gut wall at one capsule in 30 days [8].
